Professor of Psychology

I am a Professor of Psychology at Olin College of Engineering in Needham, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston (for 2021, Olin was ranked #3 "Best Undergraduate Engineering Program" by U.S. News & World Report and it was ranked #3 "Best Classroom Experience," #4 "Professors Get High Marks," and a lovely juxtaposition of #1 "Students Study the Most," and #13 "Happiest Students" by Princeton Review). I also teach occasionally at our Partner Institutions, in the Psychology Department at Wellesley College and in the Theater Department at Babson College. In addition, I co-teach a course at Harvard Medical School, where I am a Visiting Associate Professor of Medicine.

My work-life is split between conducting research, teaching classes, and contributing to the growth and success of Olin and to my field, where I do a lot of editorial work. I also do as much theater as I can. In addition, I serve as Chief Academic Officer of Health Story Collaborative, a Cambridge-based non-profit organization. You can find more information about each of these activities on the various pages of this website.

I am always excited to hear from people who are interested in my work, so please do not hesitate to e-mail me. You can reach me at: jadler@olin.edu.
