Janey Pratt is a General Surgeon at the Massachusetts General Hospital and an Instructor in Surgery at Harvard Medical School. She holds a B.A. degree from Wellesley College in Chemistry and an M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine. She completed her surgical training at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 1998. She is a member of several medical societies, including the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.

Dr. Pratt is a specialist in Bariatric and Oncologic Surgery. Her research interests include magnetic endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery for obesity. She is an active member of the MGH Optimum Care Committee and a leader in the weight friendly hospital initiative at the MGH Weight Center.

Dr. Pratt advises Olin students interested in pursuing Health Science post-graduate careers, including MD and MD/PhD degrees. She is also involved in an advising family at Olin and assists classes when medical topics arise. Using her background in Innovative Medical Technology and Surgery, Dr. Pratt is a resource for any student interested or working on projects in medical technology.
