Olin's Leadership Team at college groundbreaking, May 1, 2000.

Olin College is an exciting new experiment in engineering education. Funded by a $400 million commitment from the F.W. Olin Foundation, Olin College has an unparalleled opportunity to reform engineering education from the ground up. With the help of 30 student “partners,” the college has created an innovative, hands-on curriculum built around the reform recommendations of ABET, the NSF coalitions and other groups. As Olin's Vice President for Innovation and Research, a position unique in higher education, Dr. Kerns plays a key role in ensuring that Olin stays on the cutting edge of engineering education by fostering a campus culture of continual improvement and intellectual vitality.
