To set off on the summer, we dove into the documentation left by previous teams of undergraduates and explored literature covering the areas of vibration analysis, mechanical linkages, cancer research, and orthodontic design.
Each student researcher worked on two different projects over the summer. 6 on the Perching Landing Gear, 2 on the Orthodontic Pacifier, 3 on the Prostate Biomedical CAD, 1 on Pyroshock Analysis, and 2 on projects in another lab.
Moving forward from previous summers, the team patched holes and cemented a path forward on each project. With new techniques in modeling, analysis, and fabrication, each iteration grew in complexity and refinement.
Compiling and processing all the photos, videos, and information acquired from the summer the team finalized the research in papers and this website!
Though the all the projects moved forward, there's still much more to be done! Hopefully including plublishing a paper for the Perching Landing Gear to the IEEE Robotics and Automation Conference in May 2016 and the SPIE Smart Structures DNE in April 2016.
